WELCOME TO THE RACE2THEWORLDS CONTEST
5.4.2012

Have you ever dreamed of racing a real 1:10 electric model racing car at the official IFMAR World Championships? Here is your chance to do it.
For the first time in RC racing history a sim racer will get the unique opportunity to race at the real 2012 IFMAR World Championships. For this occasion we offer a special Race2theWorlds (R2tW) license, just €9.95. You can use VRC Pro for a whole year with access to all the ‘public’ cars and tracks plus the special R2tW car and the Heemstede 2012 track where the R2tW contest will be raced on. Until June 17 2012 you can try to qualify in the top-200. The top-200 proceeds to the Semi Final and the best 100 proceed to the Main Final to battle it out for victory.
The winner of this competition wins a one week trip to the Netherlands in July, all expenses paid, factory equipment, support and coaching. There will also be great prizes to win for the finalists and for random contestants who have entered more than 20 results during the R2tW contest.
Already more than 400 racers from all over the world have entered the R2tW contest! So sign up now and get racing.
VRC Pro is an ultra realistic racing sim for radio controlled (r/c) model cars for PC. The physics and graphics are so good that it really feels like controlling a real r/c car, especially when you hook up the VRC-3NT USB adaptor to your receiver and control VRC Pro with your own r/c transmitter. You’re not into r/c racing yet and don’t have a transmitter? You can also hook up your Xbox or PS3 gamepad, a controller that you are probably very familiar with.
SPECIAL GAMERS vs RACERS CHALLENGE
So who is best at ‘this game’? R/C racers and PC gamers are both good at ‘remote’ control; one uses a radio and the other a gamepad. Racers have the radio- and RC racing experience advantage, but don’t underestimate the gamers! Gamers are incredibly adaptive and have invested many hours in developing sharp reflexes, imperturbable concentration and refined remote control motor skills. There is only one way to find out who's best at this game… R2tW!
BUSTING THE MYTH – WHAT IS RC?
R/C Racing and PC Gaming are two different worlds, each with myths about the other. To an R/C racer ‘PC’ means email and spreadsheets and to a regular PC Gamer ‘R/C’ means toys. Both couldn’t be farther from the truth, and both have more in common than you’d think!
R/C racing involves sophisticated compact hi-tech model cars: small cars that produce great maneuverability, high top speeds and incredible acceleration on very tight tracks. This sport demands technical knowledge as well as sharp reflexes, and is notoriously difficult to get into because of the learning curve. Most racers give up in the first year. But if you are a gamer, then your gaming skills may be your big advantage in this sport! Show us… This may be one of the most difficult 'games' you'll ever master.
Radio controlled model car racing is a popular sport in many countries. There are on- and off-road classes, electric and nitro/petrol powered, in size varying from huge 1:5 scale till tiny 1:32 ‘table top’ racers. Over 5 million enthusiasts are involved in this hobby and more than half a million are actually racing these cars regularly on purpose built miniature race tracks. Races are organized on club, regional, national, continental and even world level. IFMAR is the world sanctioning body, setting rules for each of the racing classes and organizing the official World Championships. IFMAR has also sanctioned the R2tW contest!
So sign up today and start racing. We can’t wait to find out how good gamers really are in R/C. Hope to welcome one of you in Heemstede in July. It will be an unforgettable experience!
